Government’s Strict 2025 Pension Rule: June 1 Is Final Date To Submit Required Documents

This announcement carries heavy implications for pensioners all over the country. Now they are obliged to furnish updated documents on or before June 1, 2025. With the update in the mandate, the government intends to guarantee good disbursement performance while guarding against fraudulent activities so that only bona fide and active pensioners receive benefit payments.

What Are The New Regulations?

Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has issued directives to this effect that pensioners of central and state government shall furnish identity proof, address proof, and recent life certificate on or before 1st August 2025. Failure on their part in furnishing such documents could result in suspension/delay of payment w.e.f June 2025. 

Furnishing of these documents is pursuant to Pension Revalidation Drive 2025 which aims to cleanse the records for smooth transfer of pension funds to the bank accounts of beneficiaries.

Documents Required

The following documents are to be submitted by the pensioners:

  • Aadhaar Card (photocopy)
  • Details of recent bank account
  • Life certificate – can be submitted digitally through Jeevan Pramaan
  • PAN Card or any other ID issued by the government
  • Address proof like a utility bill, ration card, or Voter ID

The application may be done either online through the Jeevan Pramaan portal or physically at any of the designated pension offices or banks that handle pension

Why The Deadline Should Be Respected

June 1, 2025, is the last date on which documents can be submitted. Government officials state that the extension will not be granted anymore. Pensioners not complying may get automatic stoppage on payments until the revalidation is complete. Those away and cannot travel are advised to use Jeevan Pramaan digital certificates to process these matters from the distance.

  • All central government pensioners
  • State government retirees, as per their respective state notifications
  • EPS-95 and other pensioners under EPFO-linked schemes
  • Family pensioners, widows, and dependents who are in receipt of survivor pensions
